The Power of Instagram
Instagram launched in 2010. Founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger saw rapid growth in users in the first few months. From there, it has grown exponentially. Whether it's for personal or professional use, people around the world have turned to Instagram in more ways than one.
Over 71% of businesses are active on the platform, with a majority of Instagram's daily users following a business account. Just by the numbers, it is apparent that Instagram is a beneficial tool for companies. Companies who use Instagram are frequently posting, trying to create more engagement and reach for their brand. The top brands using Instagram are posting 4.9 times a week. Sometimes, I don't even post that much in a year. When using a platform of this scale for marketing purposes, it's apparent to post frequently.
There are several ways that Instagram can help businesses target a specific audience. Through advertising tools, businesses can select users based on their demographics and online activity. Algorithms can also play a key role by delivering content to people based on their activity. If someone's activity shows they appreciate fine, high-quality jewelry, they may see a Kendra Scott ad on their feed. This creates an advantage for those brands.
With Instagram, brands can create interactive stories that increase engagements. Oftentimes brands tease new releases, post question boxes or even create this or that scenarios that customers can feel a part of. On top of those story features, brands can go live on their story. I have seen several brands do holiday giveaways or demonstrate how to use the product. While live, customers can leave comments which employees can respond to. Similar to other social media platforms, brands can create posts to showcase products and reach their audience. Furthermore, the use of Instagram's direct messaging feature acts as a customer service tool for many brands.
In conclusion, Instagram provides business users with a powerful tool to engage with their audience and market their products. Through interactive features, businesses can increase visibility and foster strong connections with potential customers. By using these strategies effectively, it can help businesses reach their goals.
Hi! I didn't know Instagram launched in 2010; I always thought it launched way before I was born. I also didn't know who created Instagram, so that was cool to learn. I'm glad you noted all the different ways that you can use Instagram, I always forget about all the features and different ways brands can use them. I learned a lot I never knew about Instagram from your post!
