The Beauty of Facebook Advertising

A lot of people may have this perception that Facebook is just for parents wanting to brag about their kids. Maybe that's why you chose to download the app in the first place, to see what was being posted about you. For me, I downloaded Facebook to see what my high school was posting about me. I was fortunate enough to not have a Facebook mom who posted cringey pictures of me for my birthday. In reality, Facebook can be a beneficial tool that companies use for advertising. For this week, we'll be exploring advertising with Facebook. With more than 2 billion users on the platform, brands are turning to Facebook to reach their target audience in a direct and efficient way. The Essentials of Social Media Marketing book states that Facebook is voted to be one of the best platforms for return on investment. If you're unfamiliar with return on investment (ROI), it measures the profitability of an investment by measuring how much a company gained compared to how much they originally spent.

As the years go on, the demand for using Meta platforms as a form of advertising has significantly increased. Meta offers specific tools for businesses to manage ads, targeting options and objectives. Meta ads manager allows operators to create and manage ads on Facebook by running ads, setting budgets and measuring how each ad performs. Meta targeting options allow specific location, age and gender selection to advertisers. This feature makes reaching a target audience even easier for brands. Meta's advertising objectives help brands reach their goals by creating personalized objectives on every ad created. Whether the goal is awareness, traffic or engagement, advertisers are able to align their campaigns with specific objectives.

Another key feature that Facebook offers is ad formats. Brands can choose from photo and video ads, carousel ads or slideshow ads. While these aren't all the options Meta has to offer on the platform, there's plenty more for brands to experiment with when composing ads. Finally, Facebook offers brands the ability to place ad budgets on their content. Being able to set daily or lifetime budgets helps control spending.

Overall, Facebook is the most optimal platform for brands to reach their audience, promote engagement and achieve their goals. Whether you're using Facebook for business purposes or personal use, take advantage of the platform's wide reach and useful tools!

  1. I laughed out loud when I read the first line of your blog, because that is exactly why I downloaded Facebook. I wanted to see all the embarrassing photos my mom was posting about me. When I was reading our chapter this week, I was really surprised to learn that Facebook was so popular as I know a lot of younger people don't use it much at all. I think Meta is useful for companies as it works with two platforms that can target almost all age ranges and has a lot of features as you mentioned.

  2. Danika, I also downloaded Facebook for those same reason. I love how you talked about the significance of Facebook advertising, because our generation seems to not acknowledge it. I also liked the amount of details you shared about Facebook's features. Thank you for sharing!
